Stewart is British by birth, but has been happily settled in a small mountain village north of Tokyo since 1998. He loves helping others enjoy Japan as much as he does, and believes that the key to bringing places alive is through the stories of the people who have lived there. Since leaviing teaching after 38 years, he has been developing his interests in Zen, cooking, gardening, Japanese traditional crafts, culture and history.
