Reykjanes Peninsula Tour

Reykjanes Peninsula Day Trip from Reykjavik with Lava Tunnel and Blue Lagoon Premium Entry

Combine exploration and relaxation on this Iceland full-day tour

The Finer Details
After a convenient pick-up in Reykjavik, head out of the city and straight to the exploration part of the day. You will start by experiencing the depths of Raufarhólshellir, also known as The Lava Tunnel, which stands as one of Iceland's most extensive lava tubes. Here, you will learn the fascinating inner workings of a volcanic eruption, as you are guided through this unmissable geological site.

Your next stop will transport you to the otherworldly terrain of Krýsuvík, where steam vents and bubbling mud-pots create a surreal, Mars-like landscape. You will also discover the nearby Gunnuhver geyser and the iconic Reykjanesviti lighthouse, each offering a unique perspective on the natural wonders of Iceland.

Trading exploration for a moment of zen, you will then head to the renowned Blue Lagoon, where you can unwind and rejuvenate in the soothing blue waters. Your premium entry to the lagoon includes everything you need for a relaxing afternoon: a Silica mud mask, a drink at the swim-up bar, and slippers, a bathrobe and a towel to use during your visit. Following this final stop, you will be dropped off at your hotel in Reykjavik rich with the memories of a few of Iceland’s unmissable experiences.

Please Note: This tour is not available for parties travelling with children under the age of 3. If you are travelling with small children, please check out one of our other Iceland excursions.

Frequently Asked Questions

For more information about Context tours, please visit our FAQs.

Can we visit the Geldingadalur Volcano?
If your group prefers to visit the recently erupted Geldingadalur volcano we would be obliged to remove other Reykjanes sites due to timing. This volcano is no longer erupting but visiting the cooled lava rock (newest land on the planet) is quite the experience. If you would like to visit Geldingadalur, please reach out and we will do our best to accommodate.

Can I bring my child on this tour?
Most of this tour is appropriate for children, however the Blue Lagoon does not permit access to children under the age of 2, and the Lava Tunnel does not permit children under the age of 3. If you are travelling with a young child, please check out our other Iceland excursions.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Lunch is not included in the price of this tour, however we have several different options to propose for a lunch stop which can be chosen according to your restrictions. If you have severe allergies, please let us know in advance.

Does this tour include hotel pickup?
Yes, when possible we will pick you up just outside of your hotel.  Please note: certain streets in Reykjavik are restricted for vehicle access, and in certain cases, particular vehicle sizes are also restricted. In the event that it is not possible to meet you in front of your accommodation, we will reach out to you with a nearby meeting point.

Teitur was able to rearrange our trip in the morning to fit our needs for the tour.

Holly was fantastic. Wonderful person. Kind. Engaging. Knowledgeable! Things to bring should probably include a bathing suit for tours with the Blue Lagoon (we had them).

Ingimundur was fantastic. We did all of our itinerary and even saw a few extra things. He made sure we used our time to the fullest. We also enjoyed lunch very much. He was great to spend the day with and loved our time in Reykjavik! We also traded Blue Lagoon with Sky Lagoon and it was fantastic.
