Route Details

Meeting in Versailles, your expert will lead you straight to what many consider the highlight—the gardens. Designed by André Le Nôtre in the 17th century, these landscapes revolutionized garden design as we know it today.

As you wander through tree-lined groves and tucked-away corners, you’ll encounter elaborate fountains brimming with mythological symbolism. Your expert will unveil the significance behind the recurring imagery of Apollo, the Sun King’s chosen emblem, and reveal Le Nôtre’s masterful use of reflection pools and the Grand Canal to manipulate perspective and create breathtaking optical illusions.

Concluding your stroll through the gardens, you'll make your way to the palace itself. From the Queen’s Apartments to the Hall of Mirrors, your expert will unravel the many architectural transformations that shaped the monumental château we see today.

Over the course of your visit, you’ll be drawn into the rich history of Versailles, stepping into the world of the fascinating figures who once roamed its corridors and paths. By the end of your Versailles Palace tour, you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for its visionary design and the extraordinary stories that have unfolded within its walls.

Your guide Laurence was amazing. Beyond 5 star. The knowledge that was coming out of him was by far more than we could have asked for. Impressive !! He was also animated, funny and a pleasure to be with.

Our Highlights of the Palace and Gardens tour was exceptional. I am so glad we decided to do the tour. Versailles could be overwhelming, so it was so nice to have Kasia as our guide who was able to highlight all the important things to see in the Palace and the Gardens. Kasia had so much knowledge about the history and facts of Versailles that we got so much more out of our visit. Everything was perfect from start to finish!!

I was a little worried that the express version of the tour would make us feel like we were missing out, but Ramona was incredible. She was so adept at unpacking so much information while we moved from the expansive gardens to the interior. She gave us backstories, historical notes, little known stories, and all the “context” I love in these kinds of tours. Her breadth of knowledge is so expansive and we had a delightful time with her! Thank you for sharing your incredible passions with us on our first trip to Paris.
