Itinerary Detail

This Bordeaux Wine Tour combines an educational day with a pleasing and sensorial experience. You'll meet your guide in Bordeaux at your hotel before driving together to your first winery. On the drive there, your guide will introduce you to the history of the region and set the scene to help you soak up the rest of the day. You'll visit a top winery in Saint-Emilion, specializing in 'Grand Cru Classé', an official wine classification declared by Emperor Napoleon III in 1855. You'll taste the wines of the estate as you tour the beautiful surroundings before moving on to your second location, stopping along the way for lunch (at one's own expense). Lunch may be in the local medieval town of Saint-Emilion or amongst the vines on a terrace, depending on client preference.

After lunch in a local restaurant, our journey will continue to another tasting in Pomerol where you will continue your appreciation of the region's varietals. As you enjoy your expertly selected wines, your guide will take you through how to best discern the qualities present in the wine, as well as inform you as to what makes these selections distinct to the Right Bank in Bordeaux. You'll move from this winery to visit the village of Saint-Emilion itself, a charming medieval town with an interesting history stretching over 2,000 years. (It all started with a monk named Emilion, we are told). You'll finish up your day with more wine tasting, either at a local wine store or another wine chateau. You'll drive back to your Bordeaux accommodation filled with your new-found education and appreciation of Bordeaux wine.

We had a great tour with Elodie. She is very knowledgeable about the region, knows a lot about wines, and offered very practical tips for tasting wines. We had three separate wine tastings, and really learned about wines from the region. Our favorite tasting was with a wondeful wine distributer/ store in St. Emilion - he was fantastic and the wines were interesting. We did not make it to Pomerol but St. Emilion was more than we imagined.

The whole day was absolutely wonderful! Vincent and Nine were lovely and knowledgeable hosts. The private lunch setting was beautiful. We enjoyed the winery tours and tastings and learned a few new things along the way. I highly recommend this tour.

Emilie was an excellent driver and guide for our full day wine tour. We visited 2 chateau’s and one wine shop that were such an amazing experience. She was very thoughtful and informative. We throughly enjoyed our time with her
