VIP Médoc Wine Tour | Luxury Wine Tasting Tour Bordeaux

Full-Day Medoc VIP Wine Tasting Tour by Private Car

Explore Bordeaux's Left Bank

The Finer Details
During this full-day wine tour of the Médoc region, you'll learn about the history of the Left Bank region in Bordeaux, guided by a wine sommelier local to the area. With around 14,000 hectares of planted vineyards, 200 Cru Bourgeois estates, and the birthplace of the 1855 Classification, the Left Bank has an interesting narrative. We'll learn about this region together, as we drive through the charming countryside and visit three different wineries where we will taste a range of (mainly) Bordeaux red wines. We'll have a local lunch (at own expense) and have our expert guide imparting their wine wisdom for the duration of our time together.

  • A winery in the Margaux/Saint Julien appellation
  • A winery in Pauillac or Saint Estephe appellation
  • Drive along the "Route des Chateaux"
  • Visit a Cru Bourgeois or family-owned estate

  • Transportation to/from Bordeaux hotel or accommodation
  • Wine tastings at wineries

Itinerary Detail

Our guide and vehicle will meet us in Bordeaux center at our accommodation as we begin our day. On the drive to our first winery, our wine expert will lay the foundational history of the Left Bank region, home to some of the most renowned red wines. Our first winery stop may be a top estate in Saint Julien or Margaux appellations. We'll visit the estate, taste a selection of wines and soak up the atmosphere. Alternatively, we might visit a celebrated barrel maker (depending on availability) as we learn about the use of French oak in Bordeaux wine production. Either option will set us off to a great-tasting start. We'll continue our route as we drive along the "Route des Chateaux"; an iconic road adorned with impressive French castles and stunning wineries. We will make a stop for lunch (at one's own expense) at a winery or a local brasserie/restaurant.

We'll continue our wine journey after lunch as we visit a top winery in Saint Estephe or Pauillac, tasting the wines on offer at the estate. We might learn how to pick out flavors, speak about harvests, or discuss the key differences between different vintages. We'll finish up our day with a final visit to a family-owned estate (possibly a Cru Bourgeois estate) and sample their particular wines. We'll drive back to our Bordeaux accommodation well-wined and brimming with our new-found learnings.

Nine was very well trained in her knowledge of wine and the Medoc region. A delightful person to have guide you on a day tour and worked very well with all guides at the chateau visited.

We had an amazing experience on our full day tour to the Medoc region. Our guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. She took time to explain the important history of the region. She also ensured that the logistics were well planned and executed. We would 100% do this tour again. (We also did the Saint Emilion & Pomerol tour with the same guide the day prior).
