Greg Agoston

Political Scientist in Budapest
About Greg

A Budapest native and PhD Researcher at the University of Manchester, Greg specialises in the complex intersection of national identity and European politics. He also holds a BA in Chinese Studies from ELTE University, and two MAs in Politics and Political Economy from the University of Manchester. Having lived in China and the UK for over a decade, he brings a global perspective to his deep local roots. Greg focuses on personalised walks for travellers seeking to develop a deeper understanding of the manifold and often clashing identities – cosmopolitan, nationalistic, communist or Jewish – of Budapest and its people and how such complex relationships are negotiated through urban architecture and design. As a father of two young children, Greg understands the nuances of travelling with a family and takes pride in tailoring his tours to be engaging and accessible for all ages.
