Our most popular family tour in Venice, this 2.5-hour Venice scavenger hunt uses lions—the symbol of Venice—to trace a route in and around the Rialto and San Marco areas. Our experts will introduce your children to the idea of symbols in a cityscape and why the lion, in particular, is peppered all over Venice. The Venice family tour includes St. Mark's Square, Rialto Bridge, and other spots in the city center.

We’ll begin our tour with a visit to Saint Mark's Square, where we will start counting the lions—children usually love to compete and see who finds the most lions on the itinerary! En route to the Rialto Bridge, we will learn more about this fascinating city and search for its emblems on various buildings.

As an orientation to the city, the Venice tour for kids will vary based on the expertise of the guide since each will incorporate their hidden treasures to enhance your experience. What is a private tour?

Our private tours are limited exclusively to travelers in your party. They are designed to provide a learning experience that is completely tailored to you and your traveling companions. Private tours give you more flexibility with scheduling (you decide when the walk best fits in your trip), the ability to tailor your itinerary (we'll work to match the itinerary to the interests and dynamics of your group), and more personalized time with your guide.

Client’s children are in their early to mid teens. Is this walk appropriate for them?
Our family tours are primarily designed for children under the age of 12, and this one in particular is ideal for young kids. For teens we would recommend our private adult Introduction To Venice: St. Mark's To Rialto tour, the content for which can be adapted to an age-appropriate level.

Will this tour be engaging for parents as well?
Our guide will be able to answer the clients questions but the overall focus will be geared towards children.

Do clients go inside the venues or just see them from the outside?
No, this tour includes only exterior visits.

The historic City of Venice has a network of pedestrian paths that are accessible to people with limited mobility, not all the bridges have ramps and some areas might be of difficult accessibility. Tullia was just wonderful!!! Nothing phased her from the crazy antics or complaining of our kids she helped get them back on track. We even needed to stop at the start of the tour to get e eryone fed. She was flexible and we highly appreciated that. We had just toured the Doge Palace on our own just before starting this tour so our kids were not happy that we were starting another tour but this one kept them entertained and engaged. Tullia handed them both a clipboard and pencil and both kids (age 11 and 6) loved searching for the lions. If you want to be walked through the city with someone who knows where they are going and can tell you ALL of the history and meaning of all things Venice book this tour with Tullia!
