Route Details

Begin in Gwanghwamun Square, where kings, civic heroes, and protestors left their mark. Your guide will bring the city’s layered identity into focus—connecting statues of national heroes with stories of royal processions, civic movements, and modern democracy.

From there, you’ll head into Gyeongbokgung Palace, arriving in time for the Changing of the Guard ceremony. Inside the palace grounds, your guide will highlight key structures and moments in history that reflect the rise of the Joseon Dynasty, colonial-era disruption, and ongoing restoration efforts that speak to Korea’s resilience and pride.

The final portion of the tour is flexible and shaped by the group's interest. Your guide may lead you through the quiet backstreets of Seochon or toward Cheong Wa Dae (Blue House), offering space to reflect on how Seoul continues to evolve. This is not an exhaustive city overview, but a focused, thoughtful experience designed to leave you with a strong sense of what makes Seoul distinctive and how its past continues to shape its present.

This was such a perfect introduction to Seoul. Jon was an amazing guide. The time felt really well organized while also being super flexible so we could focus on topics I had more personal interests in exploring. I really enjoyed walking through parts of a neighborhood I probably wouldn’t have found otherwise. But I think my favorite part was hearing the stories from Jon that just added to the history of the places we visited.
