Don’t just take our word for it
Beverly’s French Revolution private walking tour was fantastic. My friend was not able to join so it was just Beverly and me on a very brisk day in January. We went to the Bastille, a history museum in the Marais (which was a great way to get out of the cold and see some fascinating paintings and artifacts, as well as a replica of the Bastille), and the Plaza de Concorde, among other sites. As we walked around the sites, it was wonderful to be able to ask Beverly all of my questions (some of which I had jotted down before I left the US). I was very impressed by her breadth of knowledge and excitement for the topic. I learned a number of things I didn’t know about the French Revolution and a ton of things I didn’t know about the period following the ousting of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. Beverly also answered specific questions I had about the Pope’s response, the attitudes of the French outside of Paris, and of course, Lafayette (because I’m an American, after all). She helped me connect the dots on the many revolutionary players and their roles. I thought Beverly was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic and a real joy to spend an afternoon with. I highly recommend Beverly if you are interested in learning more about the French Revolution and the years that followed. The tour left me excited to go home and read (or dive deep into some podcasts) about the post Revolutionary period and hopefully come back for another tour!
Fantastic ! Marie is brillant. We loved her explanation. The tour is worth every penny !
