The world-renowned Museo del Prado contains some of the greatest masterpieces in Western art. Our 2.5-hour Prado Museum for Kids private tour, featuring skip-the-line tickets, introduces children to its collection, which was predominantly commissioned and procured by the Spanish royal family. We enter the lives of the families on display in the museum, from the Holy Family to Las Meninas, learning stories about the characters representing how art has evolved through the centuries.

Tour Itinerary

As qualified art historians, our experts know the museum inside and out. Through looking at specific works, we will extract the essence of the meaning and composition of family units through art and learn about the transition of art techniques and approaches as they evolved over the eras. Each work of art tells a story: of a character, history, or even courageous feats. We will be introduced to some Spanish historical figures, especially Spain's royal family. We will seek out various symbols in the artworks, each one revealing more about the figures depicted, their time period, and society. We may also look at the evolution of fashion and amazing finery illustrated in careful detail in many of the works.

FAQ

What are skip-the-line tickets? For this tour, your tickets are pre-purchased, which allows you to skip the ticket office line upon arrival at the museum. You may still have to wait in a security line or in a line to have your pre-purchased ticket scanned.
Is this tour wheelchair-accessible? The museum is accessible to wheelchairs except for certain areas connected to the Villanueva building due to its design. Please contact us to discuss in more detail your mobility concerns so that we can best advise; we are also happy to discuss possible adjustments for clients with mobility concerns.
There are 7 or more people in my group, but your website won't allow me to include more than 6 participants. Can't you make an exception? No, unfortunately due to venue reservation restrictions, we cannot accommodate groups larger than 6 people. If your group is larger, we recommend that you split into multiple groups.

We were absolutely delighted with our tour of the Prado with Carlos. I visited with my two kids (4 and 9 years old), and you can imagine how challenging it can be to keep children from getting bored in a museum. Carlos did an amazing job keeping them engaged with games and little quests—it was so much fun for them and for me as well. We learned so many interesting things, and in just two hours we managed to see all the essentials without feeling rushed. I would 100% recommend this tour to families and anyone looking for an engaging and enjoyable Prado experience!
