The Finer Details
After a convenient hotel pick-up, your visit begins in Plaza de Mayo, the heart of Buenos Aires and a historic center of political and social activity. Here, your expert guide will show you Casa Rosada, the Presidential Palace, where Eva Perón famously addressed the crowds. The historic square is the perfect place to begin your initiation into Argentina's complex history. You will continue to the majestic Obelisco, an iconic landmark that stands proudly as a symbol of Buenos Aires. You will then stop in front of the world-renowned Teatro Colón, the most famous opera house in South America, and a perfect representation of the importance of art and culture in Argentinean society.

Get ready for a change of scenery as you venture to the charming San Telmo neighborhood. This area is famous for its picturesque cobblestone streets, where photo opportunities abound. Your guide will encourage you to take a short exploration of the inimitable San Telmo Market, a must-see for the gastronome among you. You may stop for lunch in one of the many charming restaurants or grab a sandwich from a street food stand at the market and continue onward to the colorful La Boca neighborhood.

Catching a ride north, you will discover the elegant Recoleta neighborhood, home to the iconic Recoleta Cemetery, where Eva Perón's mausoleum rests, and explore its beautiful parks and architecture. You will also pass through Barrio Palermo, known for its trendy boutiques, cafes, and street art, and finally, wind down your tour in Puerto Madero, a modern waterfront district with sleek architecture, upscale dining, and scenic views along the Rio de la Plata.

At the end of this full-day tour of Buenos Aires, your guide and driver will drop you off at your hotel, leaving you with a thorough initiation into the layout, history and unique charms of Buenos Aires.

Can we remove the car service and do this as a walking-only tour?
No, this tour was designed with a car service as the visit covers a lot of ground and hits all of the major neighborhoods and sites in the city. Additionally, it can get quite hot during the Argentine summer, and it is a better option to have a car at your disposal to give you some respite from the baking city sidewalks. We are certain you won’t regret this portion of your tour!

Gabi is very knowledgable and, asking for our interests, tailored her information to us. She is honest about the beauty and some of the challenges of the city. She has a wonderful sense of humor. And the stamina to take five very active and curious people on an 8 hour adventure.

Juan exceeded our expectations and gave us an exceptional tour of Buenos Aires. His impressive knowledge of history, architecture, politics, languages, and love of sharing that knowledge made for the most interesting and fun tour we have ever had. He was able to seamlessly blend all of our interests to customize a tour of the sites and areas that fascinated everyone in our group. He had great stories to go along with the historical sites, art and architecture and gave us insight into the cultural of Buenos Aires highlighting roughly the time from the 1880’s to present day. And as a side note, he also took fabulous pictures of us during the tour. We highly recommend having Juan as your guide in Buenos Aires!!!

Andrea was a real gem and the perfect host. She was warm, friendly and very knowledgeable. Andrea is the kind of person you look forward to sitting down with for a cup of coffee (which we did, of course). She expertly led us through the highlights of Buenos Aires, and we left the city with a great new friend. One particular moment to pass on; we realized early on that we knew some people in common. I told her I was supposed to look up a gentleman who lived in Houston for years, but I had forgotten to reach out. She told me she knew him well, and not an hour later, there he was in one of the churches we visited. We had a great visit.
