Itinerary Details

Your full-day exploration begins when you meet your expert and share a bit about yourself and your interest in order to inform the narrative for your tour. You’ll start your walk at Brandenburg Gate, one of the most iconic sites in the city: a symbol of Berlin’s Cold War division, and now, a united Germany. Continuing through Berlin’s historic center, you’ll explore the complex legacy of WWII in the city with stops at Hitler’s bunker, the Topography of Terror site, and the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe.

Your historical morning will be topped off with a delicious lunch at a local restaurant or cafe, where you’ll be able to spend time asking your expert anything, from questions about what you’ve seen to the local culture. After lunch, you’ll carry on exploring the Mitte neighborhood. Here, you’ll wander down Unter den Linden, a boulevard named after the linden trees that line it.

You will continue your tour at the Berlin Wall Memorial, one of the most important historical sites not only in Berlin, but in the world. Here, your expert will discuss the history of the wall’s construction and reflect on how its impact is still felt in the city today, decades after its fall.

At the end of this fascinating and comprehensive tour, you will come out with a deeper appreciation and understanding of Berlin’s complicated past and how it has risen into a modern cultural and artistic center.

Aaron was just wonderful - such a lovely fellow and so much enthusiasm it was contagious. We had a great day with him (even at minus 1 temperatures!). Highly recommend Aaron for any Berlin full-day tour

Today, in one day, we learned so much about the culture, and history of Berlin, with many insights from Sven. A day very well spent in Berlin.
